HerHack  - AMAG Challenge

HerHack is a Hackathon competition that was organised by Digital Switzerland and took place in October 2022. My team won the challenge by AMAG.

The challenge by AMAG: How could trading of solar energy be organised using an e-cars battery as a buffer? The solution has to utilise the bidirectional charging technology.

Our analysis: In order to trade with solar energy, using the electric vehicles battery, there needs to be a system that registers whether solar or non-solar energy is being charged to the battery and keeps the bookkeeping of the solar and non-solar energy flows.

Our solution: We proposed the Solar Wallet application. This app would a) differentiate between solar and non-solar energy in the cars battery by tracking the charging sources and usage and b) record the ingoing and outgoing energy according to their source . Selling the solar energy to the neighbours via direct electrical line (Zusammenschluss zum Eigenverbrauch) would also be enabled through the app.
